How Can We Help?

At ForrMatts, the complete satisfaction of our customers is our top priority. Check out some of our frequently asked questions below. Contact us with any other thoughts or questions.

Do your pedals require a specific power supply? And is it included?

Our pedals are designed to use a 9 volts DC power supply (negative center jack). This item is not included in your purchase at this time. Only use a 9 volts DC. Please note that any other voltage will damage the pedal and void your warranty and replacement policy.

Do your DIY pedals require a specific power supply?

Our DIY pedals are designed to use the same power supply that all of our other pedals use. (9 volts DC Negative Center jack.) If you follow the schematic provided with your purchase, only use a 9 volts DC. Any other voltage will damage the pedal. However, if you are familiar with circuit designing, you can alter the circuit and choose a different power supply unit. Please note that this modification will void your warranty and replacement policy.

Do you recommend a particular solder for the DIY Effects?

Here at ForrMatts we have tried a few different types of solder. We have found that a 60-40 Tin Lead Rosin Core Solder Wire for Electrical Soldering (100g, 0.8mm) with a 2% Flux, works best for us. But you can use any solder that you prefer.

Should my pedals be placed in a certain order? If so, should they stay in the same order if I am using the distortion on my amp?

There is no set right or wrong answer to this highly debated question. But you will find numerous suggestions when researching it. Most of it comes down to your personal preference. However, at ForrMatts our pedals are designed in a certain way to compliment each other. We have found that arranging our pedals with the lighter effects at the beginning of the chain and ending with the heavier ones delivers the best sound.

Do you mod pedals or amps?

No, we do not modify pedals or amps. However, that is why we offer our DIY section. Check out our printed circuit boards on the "DIY Effects" page. They will allow you to create your own unique sound with numerous possibilities. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Do you offer repairs?

We will repair our pedals or amps. However, many issues can be resolved without sending your pedal or amp to us. This could save you precious time, money, and aggravation as well as get your gear up and running again quickly. Please fill out the form located on our "Contact" page with a brief description of what is happening with your pedal or amp and allow 2 to 3 business days for a response.

I started having a problem with my pedal/amp/DIY item. What should I do?

Some issues are caused by a change in use or interference of another product. Many noise issues are a result of a low battery or inadequate power supply. Does the pedal work by itself but have problems in the chain? Or is the problem present all the time? You may have to systematically remove variables to determine the exact cause of the noise or problem. Trying a different cable or daisy chain may help. Does it happen with a certain setting on your amp, or all the time? Once you determine the cause, you can make minor adjustments to see if that helps. If not, contact us and we will make every effort to help you. However, if we determine there is a problem that falls within the scope and time frame of our warranty (listed above), we will replace it. If your warranty is no longer in effect, we will discuss repairs with you. We may be able to walk you through a few quick and simple things to check to save you some time and money.
